ABOUT TOURISM RESEARCH INSTITUTE
A.DE.T.T.E.(Action for the Development of Tourism and Tourist Education) is a non-profit organization situated in Athens. This organization is created by executives of tourist enterprises and professors of third-degree tourist education, aiming to:
1. Ensure permanent contact between education institutions and the market
2. Support the tourist enterprises, providing modern know-how in a scientific manner
3. Strengthen the voice of specialists in tourism
4. Support the planning of a realistic tourist policy
5. Propose and apply solutions to the problems of the sector.
Within the scope of A.DE.T.T.E. is settled by the Tourism Research Institute (T.R.I.), which is created to serve the scientific purposes of the Organization.
The institute conducts surveys and researches, takes actions of training in tourism over several subjects, either by itself or as well as in collaboration with foundations, unions, and enterprises in Greece or abroad. Τ.R.I. organizes scientific meetings and conferences as well. Τ.R.I. is responsible for facts of scholarships for all levels of education.
From June 2010, the Tourism Research Institute publishes the refereed scientific journal titled «Journal of Tourism Research».

AIMS AND SCOPES OF THE JOURNAL OF TOURISM RESEARCH
The science of tourism can be divided into two parts. The first part refers to the sciences of understanding the touristic phenomenon. The second part refers to the interparental and management sciences.
The aim of science is to complete studies, whose purpose is understanding reality. These studies are set to be published in refereed scientific journals. Their publication is judged for being original, complete and correct, by members of the academic community. Then, these publications are considered valid and can be used by other researchers for the spread of knowledge.
The aim of the journal is the spread of knowledge related to the scientific fields of tourism. In the Journal of Tourism Research, there are published original articles and obligatorily new researches. The writing language is English. The scripts are evaluated by a scientific committee. The committee consists of three members, who can demonstrate deep knowledge of the specific fields.
